HTC EVO 4G, The New 4G Phone From Sprint Nextel
A lot of rumors about a supersonic from HTC were going around for some time. Well, here it is finally, the HTC EVO 4G. Sprint Nextel has released a public statement that the phone will be launched this summer. Rumors have it that it will be the best phone that we have witnessed. Its pretty much similar to that of the HD2. But it contains Android and some other software modifications and hence has a separate identity of its own. It boasts of a 480 x 800 4.3 inch TFT LCD screen. It also has Snapdragon QSD8650, 1GHz processor. The memory is also good, 1GB inbuilt memory to be precise. The RAM is also a cool 512 MB. This would make way for a lot of apps storage. It has a brilliant battery life, better than that of the HD2 and features an 8 megapixel camera with flash. It also has a 1.3 megapixel alternate camera. The phone contains an 802.11 b/g WiFi and an 8 GB micro SD memory card. And last but not the least, it has the cool and uncommon Android 2.1. But the most significant news about this phone is that it is Sprint Nextel’s first 4G handset. The phone has the brilliant combination of EV-DO Rev.A and WiMAX. The calls are made over CDMA and the EV-DO and WiMAX act as choices for data. It looks like for the first time voice use and data can be used concurrently. But Sprint confirms that the testing stage is still on. Another cool feature of this phone is the hotspot app from Sprint which is pretty similar to MiFi. It is helped to a great extent by WiMAX and can support 8 users at any given time. All these features make the HTC EVO 4G one of the best phones witnessed by humankind.
